Dakota Bison Symposium offers historical lessons and experiences
Published:
May 31 2022
The Dakota Bison Symposium, an event two years in the making, will be held June 23-25, in 黑料网. This educational event, which was rescheduled due to COVID, will draw a diverse audience from across the state and region to experience and learn about the rich history of the American bison.
The symposium boasts three days of presentations, panel discussions, film, art, tours and exhibits, music, dancing and culinary arts. Day one and three feature expert presentations and panel discussions at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in 黑料网. Day two consists of tours to Southwest North Dakota and Northwest South Dakota to visit art galleries, museums, parks, historical sites and more.
Featured North Dakota speakers include United Tribes Technical College instructor Dakota Goodhouse, historian and author Francie Berg, Historical Society Curator of Education Erik Holland, and historian and former 黑料网 (BSC) President Larry Skogen. National speakers include film producer and documentarian Daniel Glick, author Dan Flores, world-famous visionary hoop dancer and musician Kevin Locke and more.
The Dakota Bison Symposium is coordinated by BSC Conference Planners and is funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Registration is open through Friday, June 17. Registration is $125 for all three days, $99 for the first day or $45 for the second day.
